During Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated honors this powerful reminder that sexual violence is a pervasive issue affecting individuals across all communities. We stand in solidarity with advocates and communities dedicated to raising public awareness, educating communities, and fostering action to prevent sexual violence.
We know the statistics are alarming, but we have to continue to ask the question – what are we doing about it? Our workplaces, schools, and communities rely on us to speak up, and uphold safety and respect!
Let’s continue creating environments where survivors are supported and prevention efforts are prioritized.

In observance of Autism Awareness Day and Autism Acceptance Month, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. proudly reaffirms its commitment to educating, advocating, and connecting communities to meaningful autism resources. Through intentional programming, strategic partnerships, and sustained service, Zeta continues to lead with purpose in advancing autism awareness and acceptance at the local, regional, and international levels.
Zeta’s Autism Acceptance initiatives are rooted in education, advocacy, and empowerment—ensuring that individuals on the autism spectrum and their families are seen, supported, and valued. From community forums and Champion Chats, to sensory-inclusive programming and resource toolkits, Sorors across the globe are actively engaging communities in conversations that promote understanding, inclusion, and access. These efforts extend beyond awareness to action—connecting families to resources, elevating lived experiences, and advocating for equity and inclusion in schools, workplaces, and public spaces.
Through its structured Autism Acceptance Program, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. continues to demonstrate leadership as the only sorority intentionally driving education, advocacy, and resource connection in the autism space. The Sorority’s work reflects a deep understanding that acceptance is not passive—it requires sustained engagement, compassion, and accountability.
As we honor Autism Awareness Day and Autism Acceptance Month, Zeta remains steadfast in its mission to uplift communities, champion neurodiversity, and create spaces where individuals of all abilities can thrive. Mary Leatherman Scholarship
In pursuance of our founders principals, Upsilon Zeta Zeta Chapter is seeking applicants for the following scholarship awards:
🕊️ The Mary Leatherman Scholarship 🕊️
💙 Up to two (2) scholarships in the amount of $500 each may be awarded to female high school seniors enrolled in a trade school within the Center, Grandview, Hickman Mills, Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, or Raytown area.
The purpose of the Mary Leatherman Scholarship is to recognize an outstanding woman who strived to assist the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and their youth auxiliary. Mary Leatherman was an avid supporter, fundraiser, mentor and a key player in supporting Upsilon Zeta Zeta’s youth auxiliary from inception. In honor of her professional work, a Certified Medical Technician (CMT) for over 30 years, applicants must be a high school student enrolled in a trade school such as Herndon Career Center, Manual Career Technical Center or other district affiliated professional or trade school program.
The two scholarship awards target, but are not limited to women who identify as Black or African American. Applications are due by Friday, May 1, 2026.
The recipients will be awarded in the Spring of 2026. More details regarding the award ceremony will be forthcoming.

Youth Engagement Opportunities
February invites Upsilon Zeta Zeta Chapter of Gandview, MO to lead with intention—supporting the physical, emotional, and academic wellbeing of the Pearlettes, Amicettes and Archonettes we serve while continuing our legacy of meaningful engagement.
This month, we encourage “Jump In–Jump Out”, a dynamic initiative that promotes heart health, movement, teamwork, and emotional wellness through the art of jump rope and Double Dutch. It is a perfect complement to American Heart Month, helping youth stay active while building confidence and connection.
February is also National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, providing an important opportunity to foster safe conversations, promote healthy relationships, and ensure our youth feel seen, supported, and empowered.
As we look ahead, now is the time to begin preparing for Read Across America Day on March 2, celebrating literacy, imagination, and the lifelong power of reading within our communities.
Together, these observances allow us to nurture the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—while strengthening the impact of Zeta Youth programming across every chapter.
